Howdy, I’m Al and thanks for taking the time out of your day to read this, I’ll try to make it as interesting as possible... I’m a native Houstonian, and pretty much as far back as I can remember I’ve wanted to work in radio.

I started in radio at the ripe old age of 13 in 2000 at our sister station, The New 93Q! That’s where I got the name Big Al, and my first interview was some guy named Donny Osmond.

They kept telling me to ask him about his purple socks? It was weird. So… when that ended, I did what most 13 year olds do, and that’s attend school. While I was in College, I got a job producing weekend talk shows on a sports station here in town, and they kind of liked me, so that turned into a full-time job.

Several years later I wound up running the station! I’ve covered huge sports events, like the Rockets longest playoff run since the 90's, the NCAA Final 4, and the Texans first push into the playoffs. I’ve even covered national news stories like Hurricane Ike.

I think my biggest and proudest accomplishment is meeting Astros Hall of Fame Broadcaster Milo Hamilton, and I’m honored to call him a friend. It’s really cool to look on your caller-id and it says ‘Milo Hamilton’ on it… Just sayin’.

Anyway, I could not be more thrilled to be here at Country Legends 97.1, playing the songs that you and I grew up with. In my spare time, I’m giving back to the community by serving as a lifetime member of the Houston Livestock Show & Rodeo Speakers + Lamb and Goat committee volunteer. I’m not married, and the closest thing I have to kids are my nephews, Michael and Alec, and my niece Zoey.

Thanks for stopping by and if you need anything or have questions or comments, please feel free to Email Me

MS Walk Legends

About MS

Millions of people are affected by MS and the challenges of living with its unpredictable symptoms. Multiple sclerosis interrupts the flow of information between the brain and the body and it stops people from moving. Every hour in the United States, someone is newly diagnosed with MS, a disease of the central nervous system. Symptoms range from numbness and tingling to blindness and paralysis. The progress, severity and specific symptoms of MS in any one person cannot yet be predicted, but advances in research and treatment are moving us closer to a world free of MS.
