Lace up your skates! Sure to be a favorite holiday-season destination, skate among the downtown skyline at The Ice at Discovery Green! Holiday skating on the lake will span 7,200-sq. ft. of real frozen ice-deep in the heart of Texas. Almost 18-miles of cooling tubes will be rolled-out and connected to 300-tons of refrigeration underground using the water from the lake to produce heat and transform into cold, with 3-inches of ice that is maintained at a chilly 22-degrees F. Clean, comfortable rental skates will be offered, in sizes from tiny youth-9 up to adult-14. Double-runner lace-up skates will be available for the youngest skaters, even those as young as 3-years old: If you can walk, you can skate! A separate ice-play area for toddlers will be located next to the main rink.
