As part of the celebration of its twenty-fifth anniversary, The Menil Collection has commissioned American composer Philip Glass to create one of the compositions for solo piano that he calls etudes (“studies”). Likened to Bach's Two-and Three-Part Inventions, Glass' etudes are succinct compositions that create new themes and develop them in ingenious ways. The concert is free, but tickets are required.
