Formed in 2006, the group was founded by brothers Vic and Mike Fuentes after the disbandment of the group Before Today (formerly Early Times), which was formed out of the San Diego punk rock scene. Pierce the Veil has released two studio albums and has continuously been inducted into several worldwide tours since the release of their debut album, A Flair For The Dramatic in 2007. A new album, titled Collide With The Sky, was recently announced for release on July 17th, 2012, under the labelFearless Records. The band consists of bassist Cameron Adler, guitarist Jake Hardy, vocalist Jenna McDougall, drummer Matty Best and guitarist/vocalist Whakaio "Whak" Taahi. Forming in 2008, the band have worked up a strong following in Australia's pop-punk scene, playing shows with bands such as Fireworks, Heroes For Hire andThe Wonder Years. In 2010, the band released an EP, All Shapes and Disguisesas well as a 7-inch entitled Consider This with three new songs. The band have since released three singles - "Breaking and Entering," "Starlight" and "Let It Land" - from the band's debut album, What Are You So Scared Of?, which was released in Australia on October 14th, 2011. The band is renowned for its live performances and sophisticated musical style, garnering the group a large following in the Canberra area. The group released one EP entitled "Bear in Mind, I'm a Lion" and were highly ranked on alternative radio station Triple J's Unearthed competition. In 2010, the band went to Chango Studios in Florida to record its first work under its new name with producer Cameron Mizell, the new EP was due for release at some point later in the year, but the band was given the opportunity to return to Chango and create what will be their debut full-length, 'Ground Dweller'. On the 5th January 2012, the band announced that they had joined the Rise Records family, with details about 'Ground Dweller' to be released on January 10th.
