Every Sunday, it's ArtTime/FamilyTime at the MFAH. On November 11, 18, and 25, visit Cullen Sculpture Garden and explore a sculpture of a bird by Spanish painter, sculptor, and ceramicist Joan Miró. Spend some time with the friendly family educators in the Family Zone. Sit on a yoga mat and listen to a story, sketch a work of art, and join an investigation of the focus artwork. In the studio, work on an art project inspired by the sculpture. This suite of programs includes:Sunday Storytime Make connections between the storybook, Rooster's Off to See the World by Eric Carle, and the Joan Mir��sculpture. (begins at 1:30 p.m.)  Creation Station At this family-friendly workshop, teaching artists encourage families to create art using materials or ideas similar to those used by the artist who created the featured work of art on display in the Family Zone. This month, participants use their imaginations to mold their own biomorphic creature, inspired by the shapes of living forms found in nature. A variety of materials are on hand, so everyone can add wings and texture to their clay sculptures.  Gallery Investigations An MFAH educator at the Gallery Cart has an "I Spy" looking activity, books, and hands-on materials for families to explore the imaginative ideas of artist Joan Miró.  Sketching in the Galleries An MFAH teaching artist guides adults and children of all drawing levels at this informal program in Cullen Sculpture Garden. In addition to sketching materials, you can pick up search activities that will introduce you to many sculptures in the outdoor space, and you can win an art pin.
