Dena Woodall, MFAH assistant curator of prints and drawings, discusses the drawings of 18th-century artist George Romney. Known more for his sophisticated oil portraits, Romney was also a gifted draftsman. Rienzi has several examples of his drawings, including a rare 1783 sketchbook. This gallery talk is presented in conjunction with the exhibition Visions of Fancy: George Romney, 18th-Century Paintings and Drawings.On the third Thursday of each month, Rienzi highlights a great work of art in the Rienzi Collection.
