American Textile Recycling Services (ATRS) joins forces with The Energy Corridor District’s e-Recycle Day on November 17th 2012. The event takes place from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m in the Conoco Phillips parking lot behind the Omni Hotel off the Katy Freeway. Created in collaboration with the Energy Corridor District, ConocoPhillips, BP, Phillips 66 and ExxonMobil, the fun-filled community recycling event draws 5,000+ attendees from energy corridor companies and the local neighborhood.
Every month ATRS helps Houstonians divert 1 Million Pounds of textile waste from local landfills, lower the cost of trash removal in their communities and help others in the process. The company shares profits from recycling clothing, shoes, toys and household items with local charities and provides disaster relief throughout Greater Houston. This socially responsible business model has helped ATRS double its size in 2012.
The Energy Corridor has collected over 216,000 pounds of recycled items since the event debuted in November 2009. ATRS will be onsite to collect clothes, shoes and toys. With many more partners this year, this event is sure to be a success with a positive effect on the environment. Not only will technology and household waste be recycled, recyclers will also be doing their part to make sure it’s all disposed of properly.
Together we are seeding a greener future for all!
