You may have seen us as you drive along Highway 290 in Northwest Houston, and maybe you ask yourself if we're open. Well, I promise you we're open and have been for the past few weeks. We wanted to make sure everything runs smoothly for our Grand Opening, so come out and see what we've done with the store.The Cypress Chamber of Commerce will be on hand for a ribbon cutting ceremony to welcome the Red Wing Shoe Store to the Cypress community, Houston's fastest growing suburb. Come out, have a bite to eat on us, and check out some of the great organizations we support.We're going to have some special guests the day of the event including members of the Lone Star Veterans Association (LSVA), Team in Training, the Cypress Chamber of Commerce, and members of the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Business Program. Lone Star Veterans AssociationWe're proud sponsors of the  LSVA Emergency Response Team which most recently deployed to New Jersey in support of the rescue and aid efforts in the aftermath of Huricane Sandy. Led by Randy Nunez the team is comprised of a great bunch of guys that are continuing to serve their country, even after leaving military service. Team in TrainingTeam in Training, a fundraising arm of the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society will be on hand to talk about their organization as well. Sam's Safety Equipment is entering it's second year as a corporate sponsor for Team in Training, and like all of our Open Houses proceeds from all sales this day will be donated to Leukemia & Lymphoma Society in their mission for a cure. Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small BusinessesOur owner, Kevin Doffing graduated from the 10,000 Small Business program earlier this year and the result was a plan to open this very store.
