In this workshop, teachers investigate the process of conflict through photographs from the exhibition WAR/PHOTOGRAPHY: Images of Armed Conflict and Its Aftermath. How do these images shape the story of war? What are their effects on society? Art? Examine images from 165 years of conflict and explore their connections to curriculum and your classrooms. Designed for small groups, in-depth teacher workshops introduce new ways of thinking about the curriculum and innovative teaching approaches through the exploration of the museum’s art collections and exhibitions. Workshops are from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Each participant receives an illustrated teacher packet and certificate of participation. Lunch is provided. Registration for this "WAR/PHOTOGRAPHY" exhibition workshop is $45 for MFAH Members and $50 for nonmembers. Most workshops are approved by the Texas Association of Gifted and Talented.
