Professor Margel will present a paper on the work of the Caribbean novelist, essayist and public intellectual, Edouard Glissant. Glissant was one of the earliest proponents of creolization in the political, philosophical and artistic arenas, and Margel will discuss Glissant's invocation of figures like Deleuze and Fanon within this context and that of globalization. This event is presented as part of the HRC workshop, "After Globalization and 'Theory'".
