Beginning at 6 a.m. at the South Main entrance from The Courtyard Shops, the first 250 shoppers who donate either two non-perishable items or $5 cash to Interfaith of The Woodlands Food Pantry will receive a shopping bag that’s brimming with retailer offers, perks and surprises. Distributed randomly to the early morning shoppers, three of the shopping bags will include a $100 Shop Etc. Gift Card. At 7 a.m. on Black Friday, shoppers can stop by the interior court near Banana Republic to be treated to hot chocolate or flavored coffee, compliments of The Woodlands Mall, while supplies last. Non-perishable items that are needed include canned or powdered milk; canned vegetables; canned fruit and fruit juices; diapers; oatmeal and cereal; canned meat; rice, beans and pasta; pasta sauce; peanut butter and jelly; toilet paper; personal hygiene items; and laundry soap. No expired items, please. Longer Hours on Busy Shopping Days* The Woodlands Mall knows that the holidays get busy, fast. To help shoppers, the shopping center will observe longer hours on weekends and during the last week before Christmas. Shopping for an Angel Shoppers can adopt an angel – either a child or a senior – from the Salvation Army Angel Tree and purchase a gift to make someone’s holiday merrier. The Angel Tree will be by Santa’s Holiday Castle near Banana Republic until Sunday, December 16. The Club Mobile App for 2012 Shoppers can be in-the-know on Black Friday and through the holiday season with GGP’s mobile app, The Club Shopping Mall Guide, available for iPhone and Android. AppFinity Software specializes in gifts slanted towards technology, consumer electronics and pop culture. AppFinity is located near Toni & Guy. For shoppers looking for the latest in fun and functional items, Brookstone, a nationwide specialty retailer recognized for functional products that are distinctive in quality and design, has popped up on the lower level near Macy’s. For soothing gifts, Body Comfort offers instant re-usable hot and cold packs for pain relief and aromatherapy items. The retailer is located near Dillard’s. Another holiday favorite, Go! Calendars and Go! Games offer an assortment of calendars of all types, plus features an assortment of family games, including old favorites and newcomers, puzzles, brainteasers and more. Go! Shoppers can purchase tickets for the production of Shen Yun, at Jones Hall Wednesday, December 26 to Tuesday, January 1.
