Get ready for another fun-filled semester at the Glassell Junior School! Registration for spring 2013 begins today for continuing students, scholarship students, and MFAH Members at the family level and above. New-student registration begins Monday, December 10. Registration for spring classes continues through January 21. A variety of options are available, including the exciting lineup of Explorer classes, such as the Big Picture and Make Believe. Explorer classes are held weekday mornings for ages 3–4 with an adult. In addition to familiar favorites such as Ceramics, Digital Art, Drawing & Painting, Fashion, and Sculpture, the Junior School also has Cartooning (ages 8–10), Young Architects (ages 10–12), and Stop-Motion Animation (ages 14–18). Sunday afternoon workshops include Animals and Art (adult/child), Junior Fashion Designer (ages 6–8), and Edible Art (ages 14–18). New this spring are "Portrait of Spain" and "Inspired by Picasso," which are influenced by MFAH exhibitions. Classes are held after school Monday through Thursday; Saturday morning and afternoon; and Sunday afternoon. The spring semester begins January 5. For more information, call 713.639.7700.
