Our December ProgramINTERNATIONAL HR CHALLENGE - OPENING OFFICES IN FOREIGN COUNTRIES You are invited to the December meeting of the Houston International HR Roundtable. In today's global economy companies are expanding internationally.  This often takes the form of opening new offices.  Do you know what to do if your company makes a decision that a new office will be opened - perhaps Europe, South America, or Asia, or in a developing country elsewhere in the world. The purpose of this presentation is to provide an overview for opening foreign offices, including a discussion of business ethics, workforce planning, visas, housing, transportation, security, etc.  Additionally, first-person accounts of opening offices in N. America, S. America, Africa, Asia, and the Indian Subcontinent will be described.  Finally, the group will review research completed by SHRM outlining the requisite global competencies for success in International HR.   This will be a highly interactive, engaging session with heavy emphasis on actual experiences when opening offices in a variety of countries.
