Ever wondered how Santa gets it all done? It’s the elves, of course. Those little sprites help Santa with so many different holiday activities and chores. For children under six and adults who want to learn the how-tos of being an elf, Deerbrook Mall presents The Elf Academy on Saturday, December 8 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. At The Elf Academy, wanna-be elves travel from station to station, channeling their inner elves and learning all the while. On graduating from The Elf Academy, each participant becomes a “certified Santa’s Helper” and children receive a toy. Kids and their parents/caregivers can drop in The Elf Academy any time from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. There is no charge to attend and reservations are not necessary. The activity is designed for children six and under, but all ages are welcome. The Elf Academy is on the lower level near Macy’s. Pet owners are invited to bring their four-legged friends to come by and have a photo taken with Santa. On Sunday, December 16 from 10:30 a.m. to 12 p.m., the Gold Wing Road Riders Association (GWRRA) gather at Deerbrook Mall to rev their motorcycles for a good cause and raise funds for foster children in Northwest Houston.
