With its fiery Spanish rhythms and beloved melodies, Georges Bizet's iconic opera Carmen has enchanted audiences the world over. Carmen, a beautiful and enticing gypsy women, seduces a naive soldier only to fall in love with a dashing bull fighter. Bizet weaves this tragic tale with music he combined for two orchestral suites with famed melodies such as the triumphant song of the Toreador and the infamously beguiling Habanera. Opening the concert is Rossini's jovial overture to The Italian Girl in Algiers!
