This class is the great next step for teens that know how to use their camera, have a basic understanding of Photoshop, and are looking to learn more about what goes into making a "good photograph." Basic lighting techniques will be explored as well as ways in which to use natural light most effectively. You will learn what cameras settings are ideal for varied lighting situations and how to, how to meter to increase your tonal range, and improve your digital exposures within Photoshop, while maintaining attention to digital workflow and color management. A more in-depth look at professional photo printing practices will enable you to walk away with a high quality print of work produced. Group critiques and assignments led by the instructor will revisit how to compose an effective image, introduce you to relevant historical and contemporary artists, and provide specific ways in which you can strengthen your work. This course is for 14-18 year olds wanting to go beyond the basics. Equipment Needed:Digital SLR cameraFile storage - such as a flash drive Pre-requisites:Good understanding of how to use manual controls on DSLR, familiar with Photoshop basics
