Harlem's Apollo Theatre is known the world over as the birthplace of many famous performers. Houston Community College students are invited to audition for a local version of the celebrated talent showcase: Showtime at the Apollo @ the Heinen, which takes place 6 to 9 p.m., Friday, January 25, 2013 on the campus of HCC Central.Tickets are $15 for the general admission, and $5 for students ( at the door student ID will be required to validate this ticket purchase). Winners of the competition will receive a VIP meeting with Academy Award nominated actor Terrence Howard, who is the keynote speaker at the HCC Black History Scholarship Gala February 23, 2013.
