The Houston Chapter of the Austrailian American Chamber of Commerce (AACC) will host the 7th annual Australia Day Gala on Jan. 29, celebrating the thriving Australian culture in Houston. Many local Australian celebrities will be on hand including Chef Jason Gould who will prepare a sumptous 3- course meal and country and western singer James Blundell who will headline the entertainment. Andrew Gunsberg, host of the former Australian Idol and Paula Abdul's Live to Dance will be the emcee for the evening.. Other special Aussie guests include David Bamford, owner of the popular Therapy Hair Studio and married NASA astronauts Andrew Thomas and Shannon walker. A silent auction featuring Australian art, jewelry, travel packages, sporting goods, beauty gifts and much more will be a highlight of the gala. All proceeds benefit the Houston nonprofit, Project Joy and Hope.
