Godeaux surfaces are minimal surfaces of general type with $p_g=0$ and $K^2=1$. I will give a description of some boundary components of the moduli space of Godeaux surfaces. I will also discuss the relation between such boundary components and exceptional vector bundles of rank two on Godeaux surfaces.
