LET'S BUILD A PLAYGROUND! The Fifth Ward Community Redevelopment Center is a very organized, passionate group maintaining the history of the neighborhood. (http://www.fifthwardcrc.org/)  The CRC have embraced the YES Prep Fifth Ward campus, Luz Navarro, their School Driector, and chosen 20 YES Prep students to meet the NBA players that will be a part of the ribbon cutting ceremony for the playground on February 15th.  In order to build an amazing play space in Fifth Ward on Friday, Feb. 15, from 8 a.m. – 3:30 p.m. we need YOU! vVolunteers should be age 18+ and will assemble playground pieces, mix concrete, move mulch, etc.  vWear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting dirtyand closed toe shoes; leave valuables at home  vYouth activities provided vGloves, goggles, breakfast, and lunch will be provided. vVolunteer opportunities also available Feb 13th & 14th.  Click here to RSVP or contact Ellen Winstead at ellen.winstead@yesprep.org with questions.
