Children’s Museum of Houston amounts to intelligent fun  What:Math is a basic foundation of learning.  To reckon math, you must realize that everything counts.   From building shapes, to strategy and even art, math is all around us.  Come to the Children’s Museum of Houston as we put together how math and fun make an amusing formula.On-Going Activities:Just a Minute:  Estimate the number of times you can do a certain exercise in 1-min.  Then, use math to determine the difference at the Power Science Lab.Four in a Row:  Improve your computational skills practicing addition or subtraction challenges as you attempt to get four game pieces in a row at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.Pom-Pom Toss:  Strengthen you addition skills tossing pom-poms, and then counting how many are inside and how many are outside at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.Geoboard Art:  Use rubber bands to create shapes/designs on geoboards.  Then draw your design with colored pencils on dot graph paper to take home at the Alexander Art Academy.Tangram Challenge:  Tangrams teach spatial reasoning and geometry properties.  Color in the tangrams and use them to take on a series of shape challenges at Junktion.Connect 4:  Recognize patterns and develop strategy playing this classic game at Junktion.Shape Building:  Geometry + Art = Limitless Possibilities.  Use shapes to make unique pictures at Junktion.  Build a house, build a rocket, or build a person! ***Activities, events and times subject to change.  MUSEUM HOURS: Tue. – Sat.: 10 a.m. – 6 p.m.; Sun: Noon – 6 p.m. Second Saturday of every month opens at 9 a.m. for members. General Museum admission: $9 per person and $8 for seniors 65+ and for military personnel.
