Russian Cultural Center “Our Texas” in collaboration with the bar “Under the Volcano” will organize its 5th festival “Russian Spring Celebration”. Houstonians and visitors to the city are invited to celebrate the end of winter in style of Russian folk holiday. They will offer delicious home-made bliny or Russian pancakes, which symbolize the sun. Also on sale will be another traditional Russian food - savory piroshky. The guests will have a chance to purchase original hand-made Russian souvenirs. “Flying Balalaika Brothers”, the popular group from Austin, will provide the entertainment. And this year they introduce the newcomers – the group of talented young musicians from Houston “The Girl with Peaches”. The band - named after the famous painting by Russian artist Valentin Serov made its debut at the KSP South, a Russian Amateur Song Festival held biannually near Livingston TX. Since then they have played at various occasions around Houston. Special activities for the children include a bouncy castle to help them celebrate too. Admission: $10   Note: We do our best to ensure all information is accurate. However, it's a good idea to visit the website listed or contact the organization or venue to verify event details.
