Throughout the year, The Artist's Eye is on the first Sunday of each month (except talks held on the second Sunday of April and July, due to the Easter and Independence Day holidays). A Texas artist talks about works in the Menil Collection from the permanent collection or in a temporary exhibition that has special meaning to him or her. The public is invited to these free, informal gallery discussions, which can be held in any Menil gallery, the library, or building (or outdoor space) of the artist’s choosing and begin at 3 p.m.
Jimmy De Prez was born in Portland, Maine in 1983. He received his MFA in painting from the University of Houston in 2011 and his work has been shown in Houston at the Blaffer, McClain Gallery, Lawndale Art Center, The Joanna, The Temporary Space and PG Contemporary.
