Making the Case for the Arts Thursday, March 7, 2013 3:00 PM - 4:30 PM  Stages Repertory TheatreArena Theater3201 Allen ParkwayHouston, TX 77019  Your ability to articulate the value and benefits of the arts is vital to maintaining contributed support from the public and private sectors.  Join this lively session and fill your quiver with case-making arrows ranging from social, educational, and economic to creative industries and 21st century workforce.  . Our Presenter:Randy Cohen is Vice President of Research and Policy at Americans for the Arts, the nation's advocacy organization for the arts.  He publishes The National Arts Index, the annual measure of the health and vitality of arts in the U.S. as well as the two premier economic studies of the arts industries.  Randy developed the National Arts Policy Roundtable, an annual convening of leaders who focus on the advancement of American culture, in partnership with Robert Redford and the Sundance Institute.  A sought after speaker, Randy has given speeches in 48 states, and regularly appears in the news media-including the Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, and on CNN, CNBC, and NPR.   Registration is FREE. Please register by 5:00 PM Tuesday, March 5.
