Friday, February 22, 2013, 7:00 p.m.The Menil Collection invites you to an after-hours event. Recorded music from across the African continent, all inspired by love, will be heard in the museum as an accompaniment to The Progress of Love. The music was compiled by independent curator Peter Lucas along with Jonathan Kertzer, Director of folkwaysAlive!, and Banning Eyre of NPR's Afropop Worldwide, among others. Visitors can listen in the museum foyer and, weather permitting, outdoors under the museum's front arcade. Notes on the recordings will be available.
