Pablo Picasso is recognized not only as the most important artist of the 20th century, but also as one of the most significant artists in recorded history. The exhibition Picasso Black and White reveals the artist as a perpetual leader and never a follower, continually reinventing his style, repurposing materials, and extending traditional techniques. By adhering found materials to the surfaces of drawings and paintings, Picasso and Braque revolutionized Modern art and influenced all subsequent generations of artists. Led by artist Patrick Palmer (Glassell Studio School faculty chair/dean), this workshop allows you to explore Picasso’s collage technique, and to try your hand at combining drawing and collage.
