CELEBRATE THE SCIENCE OF THE SUPER SMALL!
Catch a glimpse into the miniscule world of and discover why the stuff too small to see
“matters” through a variety of fun activities and experiments. NanoDays™ is part of a nationwide festival of educational programs exploring nanoscale science, matter and engineering. Don’t forget to check out the Matter Factory exhibit where you can learn all about materials science and nano technology.
ON-GOING ACTIVITIES:•Elevator to Space: Think like a scientist and build your own version of the elevator to space using breakthroughs in nanotechnology at Inventors’ Workshop.•Nano – Blue Morpho Butterfly: Spread your wings and fly over to Ecostation
to explore how butterflies get their color from the nanoscale structures on
their wings.•Nano Puzzles: Assemble a giant nanotechnology puzzle to explore how nano is all around us at Junktion.•I Spy Nano: Challenge your friends to find nano products in a jumble of images at
Junktion. The person with the most nano finds is the winner!•Buckyballs: At Junktion, build a model of the nanomolecule discovered by a Houston
scientist. It’s shaped like a soccerball but ten septillion times smaller!•Macro, Micro, Nano Memory Game: Play a classic game of “memory” with a nano
twist at the ExxonMobil Math Cart.•Exploring UV Bracelets: Find out how these work at Power Science Lab.•Exploring Properties of Sunscreen: Did you know sunscreen uses
nanotechnology? Discover what it does to keep you safe from the sun at Power Science Lab.
