On Saturday, March 9, Baybrook Mall joins with ABC 13 and the Gulf Coast Regional Blood Center to help save lives by hosting the blood donor coach at the shopping center. More than 1,000 blood donations are needed every day in the Texas Gulf Coast region and every donation helps save as many as three lives. Everyone who donates or attempts to donate on Friday or Saturday and mentions ABC 13 will receive a Commit for Life t-shirt and a coupon for a free cookie from Great American Cookies. The mobile donor coach will be at the shopping center, in the parking lot near Forever 21, from 1 to 6 p.m. Appointments are not necessary, but can be made by calling 1.888.482.5663 or visiting The Blood Center’s website at www.giveblood.org . Individuals with appointments will be given priority. Donors must be at least 17 years of age, weigh a minimum of 110 pounds and be in good general health.
