EnergyFest 2013, the newest, fun-packed family festival for West Houston, is Saturday, April 6, along Eldridge Parkway between Enclave Parkway and Briar Forest Drive with free admission.
The first-ever street festival for The Energy Corridor, “EnergyFest: Explore The Corridor” will feature a day of fun activities, great food and good times.
A Bike Off at 10 a.m., attended by City of Houston Mayor Anise Parker, will launch EnergyFest at the Enclave on Eldridge Shopping Center, on the corner of Eldridge and Enclave Parkways. Bicycle World of Houston will host its Lids Klub bicycle rodeo and helmet fitting. After the Mayor’s remarks, families can explore the Corridor’s extensive bicycle trail network in Terry Hershey Park.
From noon-5 p.m., EnergyFest will feature an Entertainment Expo with live, local performers; Creative Corner, with children’s activities, face painting, balloon artists, sports teams representatives and BARC Adopt-a-Pet; Sustainable Synergy zone with demonstrations on sustainable living; food booths and trucks; and a merchant street featuring businesses from The Energy Corridor.
KHOU 11 Morning News Anchor Lily Jang and KHOU 11 Meteorologist Chita Johnson will emcee the Entertainment Expo.
Proceeds will benefit neighborhood schools in The Energy Corridor.
“We invite everyone to come out to EnergyFest and share the communal spirit and liveliness that is driving The Energy Corridor,” says Clark Martinson, General Manager, The Energy Corridor District.
