Virtuosi of Houston Young Artists Chamber Orchestra has been surprising and delighting audiences with their musicality since 1996. The Concerto Concert features the first place string and wind section winners of the 14th Annual Immanuel and Helen B. Olshan Foundation Concerto Competition playing selections composed by Mozart and Mendelssohn, and Beethoven’s Symphony No 7.As Peter Remington, Publisher of Houston Magazine and new Virtuosi of Houston Board of Directors member recalls: “My first experience was the December event in 2011. Not knowing what to expect from a group of high school musicians that didn’t even come from the same school orchestra, I was setting my expectations to a minimum. How pleasantly surprised I was from the very first number. I left that night telling everyone that this group of musicians could play in any orchestra pit in America. I became an instant fan.”
