The YWCA Houston is sounding the alarm and calling on all individuals to join us in taking a bold Stand Against Racism on April 25 at the Holocaust Museum. The Center for the Healing of Racism has partnered with the YWCA in order to unite our community in a bold demonstration that delivers a clear message that racism can no longer be ignored or tolerated. The Stand Against Racism movement is a collaboration of over 100 YWCA Associations nationwide and their 3,000+ community partners. In 2012, over a quarter million people took a Stand Against Racism, and that number is expected to increase in 2013. The evening will begin with a reception, honoring Attorney Ellyn Haiken Josef of Vinson & Elkins as a woman committed to the vision of eliminating racism and celebrating the richness of diversity in Houston, a viewing of the film, “The Way Home”, followed by a dialogue of the impact of racism.
