Walter CoffeyWalter was born in Joliet, Illinois and graduated from both Joliet Junior College and Loyola University of Chicago. He has written several works of historical fiction and non-fiction, and his work has earned critical praise from the Quincy Writers’ Guild and Foreword Magazine. He is also a member of the Houston Civil War Round Table who has been honored by the Sons of Confederate Veterans.Walter values the individual liberty guaranteed by the U.S. Constitution, and he is a strong believer in free markets, fiscal responsibility, and personal accountability. Walter currently resides in Texas with his wife Gianna. David Thomas RobertsOriginally from southern Illinois, David Thomas Roberts moved to San Antonio, Texas in 1967 when he was eight years old. His family made regular trips to the Alamo with family, friends, neighbors and visiting relatives during the1968 World ‘s Fair, “Hemisphere ’68 and in years after.”The story of The Alamo, the spirit of all its Texan heroes, and the fight for Texas independence left an indelible impression on him that has endured a lifetime.As a “naturalized” Texan, Roberts has become a staunch defender and admirer of all things Texas, including her rich and unique history, politics, culture and people.The author is active in politics and the movement for modern-day Texas Independence, and has been a speaker at Tea Party events. Jeffrey MurrahBeing a sixth-generation Texan, Jeffrey Murrah grew up surrounded by history. From his early childhood, he listened to family stories about his forbearers and their connection with the Alamo, San Jacinto, Gettysburg and Normandy. He also walked the battlefields and historic sites where his own history and that of Texas overlapped at places like San Jacinto, Goliad and Gonzales. When he attended public school in Pasadena, Texas, when it came time for studying Texas history, he found himself miles ahead of his peers. Researching and learning about history kindled a new passion in his life.For Jeffrey, history was not merely old stories in books. Through his research, the people took on a new life. The events became more human and the situations faced continue stirring emotions. As an adult, he visited battlefields, researched people, events and historic sites across Texas and the world gaining a better understanding and awareness of the history that shapes us. He combined history with archeology and psychology in his research. From Judge Isaac Parker’s courtroom in Fort Smith, Arkansas to St. Paul’s prison cell in Rome, he has read, experienced and researched many facets of historical experiences. His passion for history has inspired his writing two award winning books on Texas and the exploits of military units his relatives belonged to. His research and findings have also been featured on the Texas Parks and Wildlife radio show.Historic and heritage groups across Texas have asked him to speak and share his thought provoking insights. Whether speaking in schools, court houses, restaurants or libraries his audiences enjoy what he shares with them. His speaking locations include Gonzales, Galveston, Sugar Land, Conroe, Arlington, Anderson, Bryan, Chappell Hill, Houston, Temple, Pasadena and Waco. He was also named the official historian for the Terry’s Texas Rangers re-enactment group (http://www.terrysrangers.us/) which were featured in such movies as “The Postman”, “The Patriot”, “Gettysburg” and “Ride with the Devil”. He was also invited for several years as one of the authors signing their books at the annual San Jacinto Day celebrations in Deer Park, Texas.Jeff’s love of history has also led to his chasing down the Texas embassy locations in European capitols and being commissioned an Admiral in the Texas Navy by Governor Rick Perry for his accomplishments. His travel and research have culminated in his latest history book, Texans Always Move Them: A True History of Texas. This book debuted at the ceremony marking the 100th Anniversary of the Terry’s Texas Ranger Monument at the State Capitol.Besides a love of history, he has a heart for helping hurting marriages and families. This love of helping families and marriages led to him becoming a counselor, Sunday School teacher and college professor as well. His writings on marriage and the family have a world-wide following. In 2010, he was selected for inclusion in the “Counseling Courier’s Marriage Counselor Hall of Fame” as being one of the top 15 counselors.Firmly believing that a man takes his convictions into all that he does, he joined the Sons of the Republic of Texas, Sons of Confederate Veterans and the League of the South. Within those groups he combined his efforts at preserving history and family values. Steve BaysingerSteve Baysinger is the legislative liaison of the Tenth Amendment Center-Texas, the Texas chapter of the national Tenth Amendment Center, a non-partisan, non-profit organization. The Tenth Amendment Center seeks to restore the responsibility of the 50 States and their citizens to deal with issues whose jurisdiction is reserved exclusively to the several states and to the people therein by the Tenth Amendment of the United States constitution:“The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to States, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.” Steve served as the Bexar County election coordinator for Dr. Donna Campbell (SD-25) during the 2012 primary and run-off elections.
