Get ready to disco at The Friends of the Stehlin Foundation Gala! This year’s event celebrates the life of Dr. John Stehlin (June 16, 1923 - June 4, 2013), who devoted his life to cancer research and patient care. Highlighting the theme “Stayin’ Alive!” the party will feature entertainment from, Stayin' Alive, The World Renowned Bee Gees Tribute Band, and the COMPANY MEN, America’s first Mashup group, who has shared the stage with Natalie Cole, Chaka Khan, Jesse Campbell (The Voice) and LaToya London (American Idol). A lavish dinner, silent auction and three-item live auction are additional highlights of the evening planned by longtime Stehlin friends and event producers, Ward & Ames.
The evening will honor Marianne and Dr. Robert Ivany, the president of the University of St. Thomas since 2004. A decorated Vietnam War veteran, he has led soldiers in various commands throughout the world, advised military and civilian leaders alike, was Army Aide to the President of the United States as well as assistant professor of history and football coach at the West Point Military Academy. The recipient of countless military awards, medals and civic awards worldwide, he and Marianne are dedicated to making the University of St. Thomas one of America’s greatest Catholic Universities.
Proceeds from The Friends of the Stehlin Foundation Gala will support research related to drug development for clinical trials; DSRCT, an insidious form of sarcoma cancer affecting children and young adults; and the Foundation’s Scholarship Program for students pursuing careers in the health profession at the University of St. Thomas and other prominent colleges and universities. Individual tickets start at $300 and tables start at $3,500 for 10 people.
