Austin-based Conspirare, one of the country's premier choral ensembles, will present a Houston concert as part of its celebratory 20th Anniversary Tour. Led by founder and artistic director, Craig Hella Johnson, Conspirare will perform in the sanctuary of St. Luke's UMC (3471 Westheimer at Edloe), on Friday, September 27, beginning at 7:30 pm.The evening's program is titled Bach Plus: Elegant Craft, Ardent Expression.J.S. Bach’s motets, gleaming pearls of elegant compositional craft, form a framework for expressive music across the centuries. Hear Der Geist Hilft and other Bach favorites, plus gems by Gustav Mahler, Steven Sametz, and young Estonian composer Pärt Uusberg.
