This program is for homeschool families with children ages 4 to 12. Space is limited, so preregistration is required. Families explore furniture, jewelry, ceramics, posters, and more in the exhibition Koloman Moser: Designing Modern Vienna, 1897–1907. Participants also make connections to other decorative-arts objects at the MFAH, such as Louis Comfort Tiffany’s stained-glass creation on display in the American art galleries. In the studio, families create and print their own modern designs.Homeschool workshops, specially designed for families who homeschool their children, feature activities that encourage parents and children to learn about and discover art together. Activities are interdisciplinary and teach about art and how art relates to other curricular areas such as language arts, science, and social studies. Each workshop includes an interactive gallery tour, followed by a group discussion in the galleries and an art-making activity that examines a select work of art. All participants receive materials to extend the lesson at home.Families with children ages 10 and older are encouraged to register for the November 19 session of this workshop.
