On Your Mark, Get Set...Go! to the 18th Annual Children's Festival. The festival takes place Saturday, Nov. 10, from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 11, from noon - 5 p.m.Fun takes center stage at The Cynthia Woods Mitchell Pavilion’s 18th Annual Children’s Festival. Entertainment spans from local community performances to populare children’s performers, meaning you are sure to enjoy the show! Lots of activities are located in the different zones, so every child has something to enjoy.The focus of Children's Festival is on the performing and visual arts for children, including award-winning children’s performers that are a must-see with their unique ability to inspire children with programs that not only amuse, but also communicate positive messages. Children's Festival is an exciting way to help young children broaden their horizons, tap into their talents, ignite their creativity, appreciate other cultures and develop a love and appreciation for the performing arts.Children's Festival is designed for children ranging from pre-K to intermediate, but kids of all ages are encouraged to join the fun. Bring the whole family!Activities Galore!In addition to performances by professional entertainers, festival activities include performers on multiple stages and fun characters strolling around the festival. Entertainment spans from local community performances and lots of activities around every corner, so every child has something to enjoy.The Wells Fargo Fun Zone features free balloons, hat-making, a meet and greet area and performers on the ARAMARK Community Stage. Head up to the top of the hill where the adventure continues and kids can build and fly kites, run parachute races, pan for gold and play in the sand.The Anadarko Science Zone also features face painting along with interactive games. Create your own work of art in the sidewalk chalk area, play games in the Pepsi truck, rock out with the Radio Disney Road Crew and much, much more. Children can explore the elements of art at Arts Alley by making crafts they can take home. They learn about lines, colors, shapes, patterns, unity, balance and more by using elements to make imaginative creations. Arts Alley also features Do-A-Dot art and mask making.The Activity Tent is a constant exploration of games and amusements organized by local businesses with activities including carnival games, fashion show, arts and crafts, instrument petting zoo, coloring contest and more. At the end of the Activity Tent, hop aboard Stan’s Train for a ride full of fun for the whole family.For fitness and nutrition-related fun, children can visit the Healthy KidZone to participate in physical activities and meet professional sports teams. Kids can learn the techniques of martial arts, explore an ambulance, visit the teddy bear clinic and play a giant game “Operation.” For added adventure, kids looking for a challenge can roll, flip, run and spin on water without getting wet in a giant Bubble Runner and enjoy the Bumper Boats.Tickets for Children's Festival can be purchased at The Pavilion Box Office Monday through Friday from 10 a.m. - 5 p.m. and at the door the days of the festival. Admission is $8 per person in advance and $10 per person at the door. Children under two are admitted FREE of charge. The Pavilion Box Office is located at The Pavilion's north entrance at 2005 Lake Robbins Drive in The Woodlands. Tickets for Children's Festival also are available through Ticketmaster at all Ticketmaster outlets, online at www.ticketmaster.com or by calling 800-745-3000.On-site pre-paid parking is available in the Town Center Garage, located off Six Pines Drive. Parking is $5 per vehicle for this event. Tickets for on-site parking can be purchased at The Pavilion Box Office or at the entrance to the garage during the festival. Advance purchase is not required, but guarantees a space the day of the festival.Pack a Picnic - Families are invited to bring picnic lunches to Children's Festival. However, beverages cannot be brought into the venue. There are concessions by ARAMARK Sports & Entertainment that are available during the public days of the festival in the Fun Zone. Concessions feature specialty items by Papa John's Pizza, the Sugar Shack, Lemon Chills and more.Stroller Parking - Children's Festival is the one time a year when strollers are allowed into The Pavilion. Load them up, haul them in and park them in one of the several designated Stroller Parking Areas throughout the venue when watching a performance. Strollers are not allowed in the seating area.
