Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens presents Yuletide: Holiday Time at Bayou Bend, November 26–January 1, 2013.Bayou Bend is renowned for its annual Yuletide tradition featuring festive lights, decorations, and holiday room settings that bring Early American celebrations to life. Yuletide: Holiday Time at Bayou Bend is a festive stroll through 250 years of history to see how previous generations have celebrated with family and friends.This year, the exhibition features a room dedicated to Early American children’s toys and vignettes of opulence that celebrate the 1830s, a time when the United States was beginning its climb to wealth and power. Past favorites include a Victorian "cobweb" game and Benjamin Franklin’s Christmas dinner.Bayou Bend, the American decorative arts center of the Museum of Fine Arts, Houston, hosts a free Family Day the third Sunday of each month from September through May. Sunday, December 15: Historic HolidaysExplore the history of holidays in the United States.December is a time of celebration across cultures, and Bayou Bend is the place to immerse yourself in the holiday season!
