The San Jacinto College South Dance Performing Arts Company (PAC) will present its Fall into Dance concert on November 21 & 22, 2013 at 7:30 p.m. at the Marie Spence Flickinger Fine Arts building on the South campus, located at 13735 Beamer Road in Houston. This year’s concert will feature the choreography of guest artist Dionne Noble of NobleMotion Dance. As fast paced techno music by Christian Cherry and 2562 pulses away, the dancers hurdle, shake, and fling themselves through the space for an exhilarating ride of a dance! Other highlights include a site-specific work in the Marie Spence Flickinger Fine Arts atrium by adjunct faculty Rebekah Chappell, and additional choreography by faculty members Jamie Zahradnik of Rednerrus Feil Dance Company and Stephanie Henderson. The San Jac Dance PAC is under the new direction of Diane Cahill Bedford, Dance Professor at San Jacinto College South. “My goal is to continually provide our students and audiences with an opportunity to experience the work of dance professionals from around Houston and beyond,” said Bedford. “Our students are talented and growing in their experiences with every rehearsal, and they can’t wait to share their talents with the surrounding community,” Bedford explains. The concert will be rounded out with choreography by Bedford and students in the Dance Program at San Jac South. The Dance Guild, a student organization developed to support the efforts of the Dance Program at San Jac South, will also be selling one-of-a-kind dance calendars for 2014 and raffling off t-shirts to raise money for future performances, guest artists, and attendance at the annual American College Dance Festival.Admission is $5.00 for students with ID and seniors, and $10 general admission. For more information, please contact Diane Cahill Bedford at 281-484-1900 x 3854.
