The Supernova Armando is a weekly improv show that takes the classic Armando form out for a piña colada party! This fast-paced, gut-busting comedy show featuring many of Station's Best performers takes the true stories of a fascinating guest and turns them into hilarious scenes!Guest Monologist: Shyla Ray, Director of Station TheaterShyla Ray has taught improv classes, camps, and corporate and festival workshops since 2009 and currently teaches improv with Station Theater and Rice University. She has a Masters in Art History from American University. She has studied improv with Tami and Chris of The New Movement Theater, at IO Chicago, and from instructors hailing from the Dallas Comedy House, Coldtowne Theater, the Annoyance Theater, and The Second City.Shyla has performed and taught on tour across the country, at over a dozen major national festivals, opened for Tig Notaro, Aphasia, The UCB Allstars, The Tim & Micah Project, The Chris Gethard Show, and performed in shows with Jason Chin, Jill Bernard, Matt Donnelly, Mark Sutton, and Joe Bill.Supernova Armando Cast: Bryan Cruz, Matt Gawloski, Andrea Kawaja, Angela Mayans, Jason McElweenie, Jim Meyers, Royal Millen, Katelyn Oliver & Brenda ValdiviaOpening for the Supernova Armando is Lotería - a show where everything including the performers is left completely up to the bingo-caller's chance. Those taking the 7:30pm Intro to Improv class can stay for the Supernova Armando show for free. They can also perform in the Lotería show. With a full lineup of intelligent yet irreverent stand-up, sketch and improv, Station Theater is Houston’s home for independent comedy. Station’s ever-growing pool more than a dozen improv and sketch comedy troupes delight audiences every Thursday through Saturday. Station’s comedy conservatory offers workshops and classes in long form improv, sketch comedy, stand-up comedy as well as other areas of performance art. Station is available for corporate training programs and private events.
