Lady Gaga sings in "Applause" that she lives for the way that we cheer and scream for her. Well … we're definitely screaming.
The music video — directed by longtime Gaga collaborators Inez van Lamsweerde and Vinoodh Matadin — hit the Internet today, August 19, and it could be her most outlandish effort yet. It's like a fever dream of freakish imagery, featuring frenetic choreography and at least a dozen fiendish costumes.
Here are some highlights, some particularly memorable images the Lady with which the Lady is treating us (and torturing us):
She pops out of a giant top hat, catching a hurdling knife with her mouth before exploding in a puff of red smoke.
She emerges from said top hat with a electrified horse's tail. (Or does it belong to a unicorn?)
She with only shells covering her naughty bits at one point — and with a bra shaped like human hands at another.
She sings with her head on the long neck of a black swan, in perhaps the most horrifying tableau.
She strides down a catwalk, looking like a deranged beauty queen, passing through a purple vortex of light and glitter — all the while dragging a third leg.
We're disgusted, repulsed, terrified... and loving every moment of it. We're more Gaga than ever!Source: YouTube
