Liam Neeson is opening up about the devastating loss of his wife Natasha Richardson in 2009.
The gorgeous actress was the mother of his two sons. She was gravely injured in a skiing accident in Quebec when she suffered a traumatic head injury that left her brain dead.
The 61 year-old action hero tells 60 Minutes Sunday “”I was told she was brain dead. She was on life support…I went in to her and I told her I loved her, said ‘Sweetie, you’re not coming back from this, you’ve banged your head’ I don’t know if you can hear me but this is what’s gone down. And we’re bringing you back to New York, and your family and friends will come, and that was about it.”
“She and I made a pact if any of us got into a vegetative state we’d pull the plug. So when I saw her and saw all these tubes and stuff, that was my immediate thought was okay, these tubes have to go. She’s gone.”
“Donated three of her organs, so she’s keeping three people alive at the moment…her heart, her kidneys and her liver. It’s terrific…and I think she would be very thrilled and pleased by that.”
