Annual Bike Ride to Raise Funds for City's Reforestation Projects

Mayor's Wellness Weekend

Tour de Houston Presented by Apache Corporation is a fundraising bike ride that benefits Houston's Reforestation Program. The ride will take place Sunday, March 19, 2017. This annual event offers Houstonians and visitors a unique way to view the city with bike routes winding through Houston’s historic neighborhoods, scenic districts and parks. With three ride length options, the Tour de Houston is the perfect event for leisure riders or cycling enthusiasts. In addition, it is a BP MS 150 recommended training ride.

This event begins and ends in Hermann Square at City Hall located at 901 Bagby. Riders and volunteers will enjoy a post-ride party that includes live music, free food and beverages.

Bayou City Classic
The Bayou City Classic 10k is Houston's premier 10k race and walk! The classic 10k has been a Houston tradition for 40 years and attracts more than 3000 runners, walkers, and volunteers. Day of race registration is available for 5K participants; however there will be no 10k registration available on the morning of the race. Wheelchair participants begin the 10k at 7:50 a.m. Runners and walkers begin the 10k at 8:00 a.m. All 5k participants start at 8:10 a.m. For more information and to register for the Bayou City Classic Presented by Apache Corporation, please visit www.bayoucityclassic.org.

Every dollar we raise through registration fees will directly fund the Reforest Houston Program. In order to plant more trees and make Houston a greener city, we ask riders who wish to receive an official 2017 Tour de Houston event t-shirt make an additional $5 donation. Event shirts are not included in the price of registration.

Sponsorship Information
Each year a new route is featured to meet the Mayor’s objective to showcase Houston neighborhoods. The 20, 40 and 60-mile ride is a BP MS 150 approved training ride. Sponsor receives total exclusivity regarding promotion of brand on-site at the start / finish line, rest stop areas, & hospitality area specific to business category. The Mayor’s Office of Special Events produces events to create civic celebration and enhance the community. Proceeds benefit the Houston Parks and Recreation Department through Houston Civic Events, Inc., a Texas 501(c)(3) non-profit. Sponsorship is tax-deductible.
