Another familiar face will appear in the next “Scream” film.
According to Variety and Deadline, actress Neve Campbell, who played Sidney Prescott in the first four movies of the popular horror franchise, will take on the role again in the fifth “Scream” film, set to hit theaters in January 2022.
“Hello again, Sidney ... #ImBack @ScreamMovies,” Campbell, 46, wrote Thursday in an Instagram post featuring a short video clip of the villain’s mask.
Fellow “Scream” veterans Courteney Cox (Gale Weathers) and David Arquette (Dewey Riley) also will appear in the new flick, as well as newcomers Melissa Barrera, Jenna Ortega and Jack Quaid, the entertainment outlets reported.
Radio Silence is behind the latest “Scream” film, which will be directed by Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, according to Variety. Wes Craven, who died in 2015, directed the first four movies.
